As we announced on our last episode, we’re re-branding with the reboot of the podcast! The ARGNetcast will now be known as the StoryForward Podcast.

So why a new name, you ask? Over the past decade, we’ve watched as Alternate Reality Gaming has expanded in scope, really beginning to take hold in various forms as not just ARGs, but Transmedia Storytelling, Viral campaigns, Apps, Events and more. With storytelling still at the core of our discussions, we wanted the name of the podcast to reflect the fact that we’ve begun to talk about more than just ARGs.

So we bid a fond farewell to ARGNetcast as a label. Many thanks to Jonathan Waite, Sean C. Stacey, Marie Lamb and the rest who made the ARGNetcast as great as it was, and we look forward to continue discussing the future of Entertainment and Storytelling as the StoryForward Podcast. If you subscribed to the ARGNetcast via iTunes, you don’t need to take any action, as everything will update automatically. And don’t worry, we’ll be keeping all 127 ARGNetcast episodes archived here on this site, so you’ll be able to listen to any of them any time.

Our new co-host: JC Hutchins!

Thanks to intrepid fans on Twitter last night, I’m revealing who my new co-host will be for the soon-to-be-relaunching ARGNetcast. So, without further adieu…

I’m very pleased to announce that I’ll be joined by writer and awesome boots-wearer, J.C. Hutchins!

No stranger to cross-media storytelling, J.C. is best known for his podcast novel trilogy 7th Son, which has over 2 million downloads, and also for his fine work co-authoring Personal Effect: Dark Art with Jordan Weisman. Additionally, J.C. was just the keynote speaker for the 2011 ARG-Fest-o-Con.

Hello, everybody! So good to see you again! How have you been? Me? I’ve been good, thank you. Ya know, busy busy busy.

What’s that? You heard that ARGNetcast is coming back from Hiatus? Well, you heard right!

That’s right, the ARGNetcast is still alive and kicking, and will return to the WiFiWaves in January 2012. We’ll have a whole new format for a whole new year, and, most importantly, will be welcoming a new co-host to the show!

I’m very excited about this, and am looking forward to giving you more information as it becomes available. Well, it’s available now, but I don’t want to reveal who my new co-host is….just…..yet.

Meanwhile, we’ll be hard at work behind the scenes making a brighter, kinder, gentler, more awesome ARGNetcast than ever before!
