    Thanks for this inspiring discussion.
    I disagree with the fact that new practitioners get mixed up also (cf. talk around 24th minute), we all take part in the debate to shaping the “avant-garde” as you say and as master’s degree student in multi-platform content scriptwriting (France) we do learn about Henry Jenkins original concept. We make a clear difference between what “cross” and “trans” are. We also get upset listening to some speakers during professional conferences when they just mix everything: it doesn’t help to enlarge the debate and try different ways,paths, shortcomings as you said

    HELLS YEAH.

    Saying this, of course, doesn’t denigrate the audience. The main concern of the audience is the story, too. They’ll love the creative experience that provides the most, well, experiential impact, if you will.

    I wish interactive marketing directors understood this… or, perhaps to be more fair, their bosses did.

    this is interesting. transmedia storytelling, the term, has been around since the late 80s and early 90s. since then… it’s been used interchangeably with cross-platform, mega-branding, and franchising [Marsha Kinder]. i personally like the term because it’s more all encompassing: like the old McLuhan interviews about the global theater and the global village.

    I really think you are overestimating the power of the PGA definition. In Europe no one mentions it. If someone misuses the term in my presence, using it to actually mean pure marketing, I tell them what transmedia means to me.
